Mark Douglas Arter, of Lincoln Nebraska, was born March 21, 1953 and passed away on May 25, 2014 surrounded
by his loving family. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Co-owner of The Arter Group and a passionate family man.
Career and past involvements include property development and construction of housing for low income families and elderly.
Worked on redevelopment of several historic buildings in downtown Lincoln, including the Lincoln Station, Centerstone, Georgian
Place and Hardy buildings; served as a consultant on the Antelope Valley Project; Current member of Realtors Association of
Lincoln, Past President and Board member of the Haymarket Housing Development Corporation, enjoyed working with Family Service
and many other local organizations. Mark was an avid supporter and longtime coach of youth girl's soccer, Team Roadrunners,
while also serving on several YMCA and Family Service boards. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially
his young grandchildren.
Survived by his wife of 38 years, Lisa; son and daughter-in-law: Jess and Clarissa Arter;
daughters and sons-in-law: Alison and Patrick Kelley, all of Lincoln, Natalie and Jeff Remis, Chicago IL; four grandchildren:
Quinn and Hudson Kelley, Paloma and Cruz Arter; brothers and sisters-in-law: Michael and Jennifer Arter, Jim and Mary Arter;
sister and brother-in-law: Nancy and Steve Gade, and many nieces and nephews, all of Lincoln. Preceded in death by his parents,
Dean and Carol (Hemmingsen) Arter.
Services scheduled for 11am on Thursday May 29, 2014 at First-Plymouth Church,
