MORNING MEDITATION:
No matter how far along you are remember Steps 10 and 11!
Every Morning we consider our plans for the day and we do this:
1. Have I asked God to direct my thinking today, especially asking that it be divorced from self-pity,
dishonest or self-seeking motives?
Yes No
2. Have I asked God for freedom from self-will being careful to make no request for myself only?
(We may ask for ourselves, however, if others will be helped.)
Yes No
(Alcoholics Anonymous p 86,87)
THIRD STEP PRAYER:
God I offer myself to thee - to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me
of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness
to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy will always. Amen.
(Alcoholics Anonymous p. 63)
THANK-YOU, GOD:
(For all these people, places and/or things - both good and bad)

EVENING MEDITATION:
STEPS 10 & 11
AT NIGHT, WE CONTRUCTIVELY REVIEW OUR DAY. REMEMBER: THIS IS EVERY EVENING!
Yes No 1. Was I angry or resentful
today?
Yes No 2. Was I selfish today?
(Excessive thought of self)
Yes No 3. Was I dishonest today?
(Intent to deceive)
Yes No 4. Was I fearful or afraid
today?
Yes No 5. Do I owe someone an
apology?
Yes No 6. Was I kind and loving
towards all
today?
Yes No 7. Have I kept something
to myself that
should be discussed with another
person at once?
Yes No 8. Was I thinking of
myself most of the
time?
Yes No 9. (or) Was I thinking
of what I could do
for others, of what I could pack into
the stream of life?
Yes No 10. Did I drift into worry,
remorse or
morbid reflections of the past?
Yes No 11. After making this review, have
I
asked for God's forgiveness?
Yes No 12. Have I inquired what
corrective
action should be taken?

We have shown how we got out from under. You say, "Yes, I'm willing. But am
I to be consigned to a life where I shall be stupid, boring and glum, like some righteous people I see? I know I must get
along without liquor, but how can I? Have you a sufficient substitute?"
Yes, there is a substitute and it is vastly
more than that. It is a fellowship in Alcoholics Anonymous. There you will find release from care, boredom and worry. Your
imagination will be fired. Life will mean something at last. The most satisfactory years of your existence lie ahead. Thus
we find the fellowship, and so will you.
