John G. , 51, of Lincoln, died Monday May 30, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was born to Paul and Dorothy G in West Point, Neb. on November 22, 1959. Parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he was an usher and former commissioner of the men's basketball league. Graduate of Pius X High School ('78) and former president of the Pius X Booster Club. Longtime coach of YMCA, Spirit, and Small Fry Basketball Leagues. John was a pilot with American Airlines

Survivors: Wife, Joann; Sons, Patrick J. (Amber), Daniel, and Mitchell, all of Lincoln; Daughter, Tara G of Lincoln; Grandchildren, Reece, Cooper, & Stacia G; Brother, Tom of Omaha; Sisters, Joanne (Kim) Bennett of Duluth, Minn., and Jane (Rocke) L of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; Sister-in-law, Becky G of Omaha; Nieces & Nephews. Preceded in death by son Matt, brother David, and his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday, 6/3/11, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1940 South 77th Street, Father Michael Morin. Rosary 4 p.m. Thursday at church. Burial Calvary Cemetery.
