David A. Luedtke, 51, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016, at his home, from cancer contracted while fulfilling his role as a professional firefighter. David was born in Omaha and started his career with Lincoln Fire and Rescue in 1987, amassing numerous citations for excellence and bravery during his tenure.

Dave's calmness and gentle demeanor were a great value to all the people he served in their times of need. His friends and brother and sister firefighters will remember his underlying wit and sarcasm. The coffee shops and Asian buffets he frequented will miss him.
His father, former mayor and state legislator, Roland, his mother, Helen, and his brother, Larry, preceded him in death.
