David A. Luedtke, 51, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016, at his home, from cancer contracted while fulfilling his
role as a professional firefighter. David was born in Omaha and started his career with Lincoln Fire and Rescue in 1987, amassing
numerous citations for excellence and bravery during his tenure.
Dave's calmness and gentle demeanor were a great value to all the people he served in their times of need. His friends
and brother and sister firefighters will remember his underlying wit and sarcasm. The coffee shops and Asian buffets he frequented
will miss him.
His father, former mayor and state legislator, Roland, his mother, Helen, and his brother, Larry, preceded him in death.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. July 8, First Free Church 3300 S. 84th St., with viewing prior at 9 a.m. or a viewing from 6-8
