Gary W. Nelson, 77, of Lincoln, died December 20, 2016. He was born on April 26, 1939 in Lincoln to Edwin C. & F. Evelyn (Peterson) Nelson. He was a US Navy Veteran, Friend of Bill W., Insurance investigator for 13 years for Retail Credit Co., and formerly owned and operated Professional Painters/Services Unlimited.

Gary is survived by his wife, Jenifer of Lincoln; children, Stephanie L. Caudy and Samuel E. (Amber) Nelson all of Lincoln; 4 grandchildren; brother, Delwin L. Nelson of Dallas, TX; and nieces, Nancy Nelson & Karen Rietz.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Scott L. Nelson.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday (12/27/16) at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1200 S 40th Street, Lincoln.
